The 16 is a stand-alone keyboard with 16 keys, each with individual tuning option and comes with a built-in programmable sequencer. The 16 requires 4x AAA batteries. Note: the unit is designed to control the 400 or other modular synthesizers. It makes no sound by itself, but sends cv, pitch and trig.

All kits come with the parts you need to build that specific unit. Start with the sheet metal chassis. The sheet metal parts come flat so you need to bend them accordingly (don't worry, the kits include illustrated colour manuals with clear instructions and bend angles). Most people manage to build one in about 60 minutes. When the chassis is done, you move on to mount the modules, snap in the wire connectors and finalize your build with knobs and other unit specific parts. Just follow the steps and you'll be fine.

The pocket operator is all about compromising on everything that adds cost – everything except sound quality. All modules are designed to last, with high-quality components and clever circuit design. They come wrapped in antistatic protection and are delivered in a nice cardboard box. All modules are based on standard modular specifications with ±12 volt and solid 3.5 mm jacks for patching (wohoo! no mini wiring!) which makes it fully compatible with other pro gear. Finally, all boards fit in a eurorack.
