A Refined Take on the Core Series
First introduced in 2020, the Core Series quickly gained recognition for its clear focus on what truly matters in an acoustic guitar. By embracing simplicity, elegance, and uncompromising craftsmanship, Cort created instruments known for excellent playability and a naturally rich acoustic voice. The Core-GA Blackwood continues this philosophy with a new body style and all-solid construction, carrying forward the same discipline and attention to detail that made the Core Series so enjoyable and rewarding for players.
The Core Essential
The Core Series acoustic guitars are built around a simple idea: remove the unnecessary and concentrate on the essentials. By avoiding flashy, non-essential features, Cort focused on delivering pure acoustic performance. The result is an all-solid acoustic guitar crafted with world-class precision, offering a clean, elegant appearance, outstanding playability, and a warm, natural sound. The Core Series is designed to meet the expectations players have when they imagine a truly great acoustic guitar.
Auditorium Cutaway Body
With a body depth of 117㎜ (4 5/8"), an upper bout width of 292㎜ (11 1/2"), and a lower bout width of 405㎜ (16"), the Auditorium body sits comfortably between the powerful Dreadnought and the more compact Grand Concert. This balanced size makes it well suited for both strumming and fingerstyle playing, offering versatility for players who want a single acoustic guitar capable of covering a wide range of musical styles.
All-Solid Blackwood Construction
Blackwood offers a tonal character that blends the strengths of several classic tonewoods. It delivers the rich low end of mahogany, the brightness of maple, and the airy overtones of rosewood. Dense and responsive, Blackwood provides excellent clarity and projection, making it equally effective for both strumming and fingerpicking.
Fishman® Sonitone Electronics
The Fishman® Sonitone EQ system is installed internally without cutting into the guitar’s body, preserving its natural resonance and acoustic character. With simple Volume and Tone controls, the system is intuitive to use while maintaining a pure, organic amplified sound.
Ovangkol Fretboard & Mahogany Neck
Ovangkol is known for its warm tonal response and slightly fuller midrange, sharing similarities with rosewood. Paired with a mahogany neck, this combination produces a balanced, warm tone with deep sustain—an ideal match for an all-solid acoustic guitar.
Open Pore Finish
The open pore finish allows the wood to resonate more freely while also reducing overall weight. This results in improved acoustic response and enhanced playing comfort.
Genuine Bone Nut & Saddle
Made from water buffalo bone, the genuine bone nut and saddle ensure a natural and transparent transfer of string vibration into the neck and body, contributing to improved sustain, clarity, and overall tonal balance.
