The Marshall 1959 Modified builds on the legacy of the original 1959 ‘Plexi’ amplifier, offering classic tone with modern refinements for greater control and flexibility. While preserving the harmonically rich overdrive and dynamic response that made the original famous, this updated version incorporates practical enhancements to suit a variety of playing environments.

Originally designed in the 1960s and widely used by rock and blues musicians, the 1959 model is known for its powerful output and touch-sensitive response. The modified version introduces a master volume control, allowing players to achieve overdriven tones at lower volumes without sacrificing clarity or dynamics. A switchable bright cap provides additional tonal flexibility, enabling adjustments to high-frequency response.

The amp also features a gain boost switch, offering two levels of overdrive. The first retains the classic breakup characteristics of the original design, while the second provides additional saturation for a more aggressive sound. These modifications ensure the 1959 Modified remains true to its roots while offering greater adaptability for modern applications.

Hand-built in England using high-quality components, the Marshall 1959 Modified is designed for reliability and performance, whether used in a live setting, studio recording, or home practice environment.
