Erica Synths 7-Voice Sampling Drum Machine w/ Built in Mic / Speaker & CV Control

The Erica Synths Bullfrog Drums is a sample–based drum machine and sequencer housed in a signature aluminium enclosure, designed to flatten the learning curve across drum programming, sampling, and hardware integration. Built by the Erica Synths team alongside producer Richie Hawtin, the unit dispenses with fixed drum sounds in favour of 7 sample–based voices that can accommodate anything from percussion and noise to chord stabs and ambient drones. This flexibility positions it as a practical instrument for both studio composition and live performance contexts.

The Bullfrog Drums packs 64 Mb of total sample memory across 7 factory banks (curated by Richie Hawtin and Erica Synths) plus up to 16 user–editable banks. A built–in microphone and line input enable live sampling directly into the unit, whilst the integrated speaker provides feedback without external monitors. The sequencer accommodates up to 64–step patterns across 4 banks of 16 patterns each, with ratchets, probability controls and microtiming for detailed rhythmic manipulation. Individual level controls govern each voice; parameter locks and automations allow per–track sound design across 7 sound–shaping parameters. CV/Gate sequencer functionality (1V/Oct) integrates external synthesisers, whilst MIDI I/O via DIN and USB–C connects to controllers and DAWs. Stereo outputs, 3.5 mm headphones jack and USB–C memory backup complete the connectivity suite.
