PDP's Concept Series Nickel Over Steel snares are built for drummers who need articulation and cut in a live or studio mix. The 6×12 model pairs a 1mm-thick, dual-beaded rolled-steel shell with a mirror-like black nickel finish, delivering a lower pitch and dynamic attack that punches through dense arrangements. Built by Percussion Development Products, these drums combine professional-grade hardware with Remo's world-class heads, making them equally at home as a main snare or complementary side voice.

The construction emphasises control and tonal flexibility. Fully-chromed snare wires feature carbon steel coils and brass end plates for exceptional articulation and textural nuance. Hardware includes PDP's dual-turret lugs, a DW MAG throw-off mechanism for precise response, and True-Pitch tension rods that ensure even bearing edge tracking and reliable tuning stability.
