The Morley Lerxst ATWAS Wah Volume is a dual–function optical pedal born from Alex Lifeson's decades–long partnership with Morley—the designer behind the wah tones heard throughout Rush's landmark 1976 live album All the World's a Stage. This collaboration combines a responsive optical wah circuit with a smooth volume control in a pedalboard–friendly footprint, sized at 6.85" × 4.5" × 3.75" and finished in classic Tel–Ray styling. The pedal delivers two distinct personalities without compromise.
In wah mode, a boost knob provides up to 20 dB of clean gain, letting players sculpt anything from subtle colouration to aggressive sweeps. Volume mode features a precision audio taper designed for fluid swells and transparent level control. The signal path runs through a premium buffer circuit that eliminates tone loss and maintains clarity across long cable runs. Construction centres on cold–rolled steel housing with a custom inductor, LED status indication, and a glow–in–the–dark treadle grip for stage visibility. Silent switching prevents unwanted pops. Power comes via a single 9V battery with a quick–clip door, or an optional Morley adapter.
The optical design ensures smooth, natural wah response without the crackling associated with potentiometer–based designs, making it equally suited to studio tracking and touring applications. Players running compact pedalboards will appreciate the compact dimensions without sacrificing the control authority Morley pedals are known for.
