Warm Audio's WA-C1 Mod delivers the lush midrange character of genuine Bucket Brigade Device modulation through a premium MN3007 BBD chip paired with five ICs (including three Texas Instruments audio op amps), eleven discrete transistors, three FETs, and nineteen diodes. Top-mounted jacks and a footprint of just 2.8" wide by 4.5" long make it a pedalboard-friendly alternative to the larger original, while the dual DC-DC voltage converter maintains vintage-correct internal operation from a standard 9V supply drawing 200mA. The analog preamp section can now be switched between vintage mode (always engaged, adding bite and natural compression) and modern mode (bypassed for precise gain-staging in complex rigs). Selectable input impedance on the rear panel offers 50k ohm for vintage-accurate response or 1.1M Hi-Z for passive string instruments, maintaining clarity even in bypass. Separate depth and rate controls for the chorus setting expand beyond the fixed-depth intensity control of the original, allowing subtle shimmer or full-bodied swirl across a wider palette of rates. Output level sits at 315mV with wet/dry stereo capability, while input sensitivity switches between 80mV and 10mV to accommodate line-level sources or high-output pickups. The vibrato mode delivers rotary-like wobble suited to funk, fusion, and jazz applications, with a front-panel LED flashing in time with the modulation rate. Hand-tested in Austin, Texas, this pedal works equally well in front of mid-gain amps for grunge textures, ultra-clean setups for 80s new-wave tones, or dual-amp rigs where the stereo outputs create wide, spacious modulation across the stage.
