The Kala Revelator Nautilus Horizon Mango Tenor is a hand-crafted electro–acoustic ukulele built in Java with the tonal ambition of a full–size instrument in a slimline format. Its figured mango top with black transparent finish sits atop a mahogany body, creating visual depth without compromising the warm, articulate tone Revelator models are known for. The 26–inch instrument carries genuine lutherie credentials: Macassar ebony fingerboard, Grover® Sta–Tite™ tuners, Graph Tech NuBone® nut and saddle, and a Paua Abalone Nautilus inlay on the ebony headstock.
Construction centres on a 17.1875–inch scale length with 22 frets and a Florentine cutaway that accommodates higher–fret access. The body measures 12.375 inches long with a shallow 1.375–inch depth, keeping weight minimal without sacrificing resonance. Active electronics employ a passive piezo pickup system suitable for live performance and recording capture. White pearl oval fret markers provide clear position reference across the 1.4375–inch nut width, expanding to 1.75 inches at the neck–body joint. The instrument ships with a padded Revelator Transit Series gig bag and Kala's proprietary string set.
The slimline electro–acoustic design caters to touring musicians and recording players who need projection without the bulk of traditional tenor ukuleles. Its dynamic piezo output integrates into most mixing chains and portable amplification rigs, whilst maintaining sufficient acoustic volume for ensemble settings. Storage in 40–60% humidity and a dedicated humidifier preserves the mango top's figured grain and tonal stability across temperature fluctuations.
