Cole Clark's Hollow Baby HSS is a semi-hollow electric built on the Australian maker's proprietary True Balance technology, a pickup-balancing system originally developed for hybrid acoustics. This white finish model pairs a humbucker in the neck position with two single-coil pickups in the middle and bridge, engineered to deliver even output across all strings. The 25.5-inch scale and 12-inch radius fretboard make it equally at home for studio work or live performance.
Construction centres on Australian Blackwood for the neck and body timber selected from sustainable local species including Bunya, Blackwood, Quandong, Silky Oak, or Queensland Maple. The fretboard is Rosewood with 6mm abalone dot inlays, while hardware includes Grover machine heads, a Graph Tech Tusq nut, and Wilkinson tremolo bridge. Fitted with 10–46 gauge strings and a 44mm nut width, the guitar ships with a rectangle tweed case and sports a tortoiseshell scratch plate against the white finish.
The HSS configuration suits players seeking bright, articulate single-coil tones in the middle and bridge positions paired with thicker humbucker sustain at the neck–useful for everything from jangly rhythm work to textured lead lines without committing fully to either single-coil or humbucker character. The nitro satin finish strikes a balance between durability and visual warmth, resisting the plastic appearance of high-gloss polyurethane while remaining easier to maintain than hand-rubbed lacquer.
