The Epiphone Futura Firebird Custom is a modern interpretation of Gibson's iconic 1963 design, originally conceived by automotive designer Ray Dietrich. The Firestorm Shift finish is one of four colour-shifting options available, combining retro Firebird aesthetics with contemporary visual appeal. This is an Epiphone instrument built for players who want the Firebird's distinctive sculpted mahogany body and visual presence without the premium price tag, backed by solid hardware and purposeful electronics designed for both stage and studio work.

The body features a 7-ply top binding with contoured back for comfort, while the glued-in mahogany neck sports a Modern C profile and bound ebony fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets. A 10″–14″ compound radius supports smooth chording and bends across the 628.65 mm scale. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece ensure stable intonation and sustain, whilst locking Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners and Graph Tech nut handle tuning stability. Two Epiphone ProBucker Ignite humbuckers power the instrument, with push/pull volume and tone controls unlocking coil-splitting and phase options for tonal flexibility beyond standard dual-humbucker fare.
