The E-II Eclipse is a single-cutaway electric guitar built in Japan at the ESP factory for professional touring and studio work. Originally part of the ESP Standard Series, the E-II line represents the company's high-end production instruments made by experienced luthiers. Set-thru neck construction at 24.75" scale provides fast access to the upper register, while the mahogany body with maple cap and thin U-shaped mahogany neck deliver sustain and resonance associated with classic single-cutaway designs. The ebony fingerboard hosts 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets resistant to wear and corrosion. EMG 57TW and 66TW active pickups with brushed black chrome covers sit in the bridge and neck positions respectively, both featuring coil-splitting via push-pull controls for single-coil tones. Hardware includes a Gotoh TOM-style bridge and tailpiece, bone nut, Gotoh locking tuners, and ESP strap locks, all finished in black. The guitar ships in an ESP form-fit hardcase.
