The LTD EC-257 brings ESP's eclipse body to seven-string territory with a satin-finished mahogany construction designed for extended-range players who need drop tuning stability and clear low-end response. The set-neck design delivers the resonance and sustain associated with higher-price instruments, while the thin U-shaped neck profile provides fast access across all 24 extra-jumbo frets. A pair of ESP Designed LH-150 humbuckers handle the pickup duties, offering output designed to work with high-gain amplification without sacrificing note definition on the lowest string. The three-piece maple neck is topped with a Macassar ebony fingerboard that measures 350mm in radius, providing a flatter playing surface that accommodates both rhythm work and lead runs without fretting out during bends. The 648mm scale length maintains string tension even when tuning down to drop A or lower. Chrome hardware includes a TOM bridge and tailpiece combination, with LTD locking tuners fitted as standard to keep tuning stable during aggressive playing.
