Built with historically correct bodies, necks, hardware and finishes, and fitted with carefully voiced, year-specific pickups, each model reflects Fender craftsmanship exactly as it existed in its original era.

First introduced in 1968 and refined in the early ’70s, the Telecaster® Thinline evolved into a distinctly different instrument by 1972. Reworked around a pair of Wide-Range humbucking pickups and a semi-hollow ash body, it became Fender’s first six-string model to feature humbuckers, along with the first Telecaster to use a six-saddle bridge. The American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline faithfully recreates this important chapter in Fender history.

A “C”-shaped hard rock maple neck with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets delivers authentic early-’70s feel, while resurrected CuNiFe magnets in the Wide-Range humbuckers restore the original pickup response and character. Finished with era-correct appointments including a bullet-style truss rod, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ and “F”-stamped tuners, this Thinline captures the unmistakable tone, feel and design of a true 1972 original. A vintage-style black case with orange interior completes the package.
