The American Vintage II 1973 Stratocaster® represents Fender's meticulous reconstruction of the CBS-era solid-body electric that defined rock, funk and fusion throughout the '70s. Built in the USA with period-accurate ash body, maple neck and large '70s-style headstock, this instrument captures the tonal character and construction integrity that touring professionals and studio players have sought for decades. Olympic White finish and gloss polyurethane lacquer evoke the original's aesthetic without compromise.
Construction centres on a solid ash body paired with a maple neck in the classic 1973 “C” profile, finished in gloss polyurethane and fitted with a bone nut measuring 1.650” wide. The 9.5” fingerboard radius, 21 medium-jumbo frets and 25.5” scale length provide familiar playability across genres. Three Pure Vintage '73 single-coil pickups drive a 5-position blade switch enhanced by an S-1™ circuit that adds the neck pickup into bridge–middle combinations. Chrome hardware, cold-rolled steel tremolo block and American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo with ash-tray cover complete the specification. The instrument ships with a vintage-style black case featuring orange interior.
