Gibson's Hummingbird has defined the modern square–shoulder acoustic since 1960, earning its place in studios and on stages across rock, folk, alternative, and beyond. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, the Hummingbird Standard combines a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides, delivering the tonal versatility that makes it equally capable for rhythm work or fingerstyle leads. The scalloped X–braced construction reinforces clarity across the frequency spectrum.

Construction centres on a mahogany neck joined to the body via compound dovetail and hot hide glue, fitted with a rounded profile and bound rosewood fretboard spanning 20 standard frets. The rosewood bridge pairs with a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins for tuning stability, whilst Grover® Rotomatic® tuners provide mechanical precision. Factory–equipped with L.R. Baggs® VTC electronics—featuring an under–saddle piezo pickup and active preamp—the Hummingbird Standard arrives stage–and studio–ready; volume and tone controls sit discreetly at the soundhole edge for unobtrusive operation. Multi–ply binding frames the top and back.

The iconic pickguard graphics remain instantly recognisable, whilst the included hardshell case provides solid protection for gigging or transport. Available in both right– and left–handed configurations, the Hummingbird Standard suits performers and recording musicians seeking a proven instrument with authentic appointment and road–tested reliability.
