Gibson J-45 Original Acoustic Guitar

The J-45 Original preserves the iconic round-shoulder dreadnought body design and the time-tested combination of a genuine mahogany back and sides paired with a solid Sitka spruce top. This classic pairing delivers the warm, woody voice that has defined the J-45 for generations, hallmarks that have helped make it the most recorded acoustic guitar ever, as well as Gibson's all-time best-selling acoustic model. Its mahogany neck joins the body with a traditional dovetail construction, secured using hot hide glue to promote optimal resonance and tonal transfer. Shaped with a fast, comfortable SlimTaper profile, the neck offers smooth, effortless playability. The rosewood fretboard features 20 standard frets and is accented with elegant mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Honouring its vintage lineage, the headstock carries the classic Gibson script logo in mother of pearl, along with premium nickel-plated Grover open-back tuners and a bone nut for dependable tuning stability and performance.Vintage-inspired details continue throughout the body, including a rectangular, closed-slot, flat-top rosewood bridge reminiscent of early J-45 designs. The bridge is fitted with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins for enhanced tonal clarity and durability. A Firestripe pickguard adds a distinctive retro touch, giving this Workhorse a visual character that is as compelling as its sound.Internally, the J-45 Original is equipped with the all-new, Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. This advanced active system represents a forward-thinking approach to acoustic amplification. It utilizes two lightweight sensors mounted to the bridge plate, each paired with its own preamp, to produce a rich, natural amplified tone that faithfully reflects the instrument's unique voice, without affecting its unplugged sound. It delivers gain-before-feedback comparable to an under-saddle pickup. Convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow for quick adjustments while remaining virtually hidden from view.By blending its unmistakable design, proven Tonewood recipe, smooth playability, modern electronics, and vintage-inspired aesthetics, the J-45 Original stands poised to become one of the most sought-after acoustic guitars in recent years. It ships in a Gibson hardshell case, ready to accompany you wherever your next musical chapter leads.FeaturesJ-45 Body with Mahogany Back, Mahogany Sides, Sitka Spruce Top and Multi-ply top and back BindingMahogany SlimTaper Profile Neck with Rosewood FingerboardAcoustic Pickup: Baggs HiFi DNAControls: 1 Volume, 1 ToneScale Length: 628.7 mm -  FretsBridge: RectangleNickel Grover Open Back TunersHardshell Case Included
