Gibson's L-00 Special left-handed model resurrects a lineage stretching back to 1932, when the small-bodied acoustic first defined an entire category. Hand-crafted by Gibson's acoustic luthiers in Bozeman, Montana, this instrument delivers USA-built quality at an accessible price point. The L-00's narrower waist produces a focused, nuanced tone with tight bass response that sits naturally in a mix–ideal for fingerstyle and blues, though equally capable across genres.
Construction centres on solid Sitka spruce atop solid mahogany back and sides, braced with traditional scalloped X-bracing for balanced dynamics. The utile neck employs a SlimTaper® profile and compound dovetail joint secured with hot hide glue, while the 12" radius rosewood fretboard spans 19 frets with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. A 43.815 mm nut width and 628.65 mm scale length complement the fast-playing neck geometry. Hardware includes a rosewood bridge fitted with a TUSQ® saddle, TUSQ nut and bridge pins, plus Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners for tuning stability. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish resists fingerprints while the L.R. Baggs® Element Bronze under-saddle pickup and active preamp with soundhole-mounted volume control make the instrument stage and studio-ready straight from its included premium soft-shell case.
