The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble delivers all the features and performance of Gibson's regular Les Paul Standard 50s models but with even more vintage appeal.
These limited run Les Paul models differ from the standard Les Paul Standard models in two respects. First, the Burstbucker 61R and Burstbucker 61T humbucker pickups are left uncovered, and each has Double Classic White bobbins with standard Alnico 5 magnets. Second, the finish is a & Vintage variation of the standard gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, offering a slightly faded appearance similar to the natural ageing of original 50s guitars. Each burst pattern is hand-sprayed, making every guitar unique.
It retains all the features that define the Les Paul Standard line, including a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, a mahogany neck with rounded 50s profile, and a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and trapezoid inlays. Other appointments include an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminium Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners with Kidney buttons, and gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors and dial pointers.
The uncovered Burstbucker 61R (neck) and 61T (bridge) pickups are made in the Gibson Pickup Shop, loaded with Alnico 5 magnets and wired by hand with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. With their elegant Double Classic White bobbins and Vintage finish options, these guitars offer a timeless aesthetic and tone. Limited to only 500 units per colour, they won't be available for long.
