The Crossroads Series by Tanglewood pays homage to the style and sound of classic instruments from 1930s America. Inspired by the guitars that defined an era of blues, folk, and country music, these models blend vintage character with modern craftsmanship, delivering exceptional tone and playability at an accessible price point.
Developed in collaboration with master luthier Michael Sanden, the Crossroads series embodies Tanglewood's commitment to quality and performance. Sanden, known for his work with Tanglewood's Masterdesign range, selected each timber for its tonal properties, ensuring the soundboards are precisely measured to flex and respond beautifully to a player's touch. His unique bracing patterns provide structural integrity and a distinct, resonant voice, making each Crossroads guitar feel alive in the player's hands.
Finished in a rich “Whiskey Barrel Burst Satin” that echoes the look of pre-war American guitars, these instruments capture the visual and sonic essence of the 1930s. Sanden also specified traditional neck profiles, detailed fretwork, and carefully contoured bridges, ensuring every detail reflects the craftsmanship of a bygone era.
