The Tanglewood TC5CE Crossroads is a dreadnought acoustic with cutaway and onboard pickup, designed to channel the tonal character and aesthetic of 1930s American instruments. Chief design consultant Michael Sanden founder of Sanden Guitar in Sweden and creator of Tanglewood Masterdesign shaped every element from timber selection through to neck profiling. The result is a mahogany-topped instrument with a whiskey burst satin finish that balances authentic vintage appearance with modern playability and amplified performance. All-mahogany construction (top, back, and sides) delivers warm, focused midrange response typical of the era. The eboncore fingerboard resists moisture swelling in Australian climates, while bronze light strings come factory-fitted. Sanden's proprietary bracing patterns allow the soundboard to respond dynamically to pick attack. The Tanglewood TEQ-MX preamp handles signal conditioning and tone shaping, making the cutaway body sit confidently at the mic or through a PA without feedback or phase issues.
