The Behringer JAM is a 32-key MIDI controller with a 64-step sequencer designed to capture ideas wherever they happen. Velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keys deliver expressive playing response, while 8-note polyphony across the sequencer enables complex arrangements in a compact, backpack-ready enclosure. Rest, tie and legato note entry provide full control over rhythmic phrasing and melodic articulation. Chord Play mode stacks up to 16 notes simultaneously for rich harmonic textures and extended sample triggers. The arpeggiator runs 8 notes per step across 8 distinct pattern styles, from classic up-down cycles to randomised sequences. Four assignable multi-purpose controls map to key workflow parameters, while dedicated pitch and modulation touch strips enable dynamic performance gestures. Ratchet and random gate functions inject variation into loop programming. CV/Gate and Sync outputs connect directly to modular synthesisers and drum machines, with 4 selectable sync sources accessible via front-panel controls. Class-compliant USB enables plug-and-play operation with DAWs and software instruments. MIDI Out provides standard 5-pin connectivity for hardware, while a sustain pedal input extends playing technique. Front-panel Record, Play and Stop buttons offer immediate sequencer and arpeggiator control without menu diving. Power draws from USB or an optional DC supply for standalone operation away from the computer.
