The Nord Electro 7 is a stage piano that unites three distinct sound engines–organ, piano, and synth–in a single lightweight chassis. Built by Clavia Design in Sweden, it inherits the acclaimed Nord Organ 3's rotary speaker and transistor organ models whilst adding a fresh Synth Section capable of sample playback, analog synthesis, and FM modulation. The 61-note semi-weighted waterfall keyboard is designed for performers who need genuine tonal variety without sacrificing portability or workflow speed.
The Organ Section features a new rotary speaker with selectable microphone positions, dual-mode controls (slow, fast, stop), and updated transistor organ emulations. Physical drawbars with LED feedback enable Drawbar Live Mode for real-time parameter sculpting across upper and lower manual presets. The Piano Section now includes Dynamic Compression and Unison processing for enhanced clarity and body. The new Synth Section delivers mono and legato modes, glide, unison, synth vibrato, and a filter with resonance and FM partials, all shaped by ADR envelopes for amplitude and filter. Effects include dedicated ring modulation and vibe controls with rate and amount parameters, whilst the amplifier section offers new Suitcase and Brit models. A colour display and Live Mode streamline programme selection and editing via push encoders throughout the interface.
Per-section compression and a global reverb with optional per-layer send routes allow flexible ambience shaping across layered sounds, critical for touring setups where mixing consoles vary widely. The roadworthy construction and semi-weighted action suit both keyboard specialists and multi-instrumentalists working in contemporary, classical, and experimental contexts.
