ADAM Audios first networked subwoofer brings Ethernet-based control and industry-first Sonarworks integration to compact monitoring setups. The Sub8 Pro is an 8-inch active subwoofer designed to extend the low-frequency response of nearfield monitors, with onboard DSP and remote management through the ADAM Control application. Its FEA-optimised bass port and high-excursion woofer deliver bass extension down to the lower limits of the audible spectrum, whilst a 200 W RMS Class D amplifier drives the system to 105 dB SPL at 1 metre. The front-fired, front-ported cabinet minimises placement constraints in smaller rooms. Connectivity centres on balanced XLR and TRS inputs with 24-bit AD conversion, feeding a flexible DSP engine that handles time alignment delays up to 10 ms, four bands of parametric EQ, and variable crossover points at 70, 85, 100, or 115 Hz. The Ethernet port provides access to firmware updates and Sonarworks SoundID Reference calibration profiles, which can be uploaded directly to the subwoofer. Three operational modes address different monitoring scenarios: Stereo for conventional two-channel setups, LFE mode with a fixed 120 Hz lowpass for immersive audio workflows, and Wide mode for full-range applications. Phase adjustment is available in 45-degree increments from 0 to -315 degrees, and a TRS footswitch connection enables bypass switching. The vinyl-wrapped MDF cabinet measures 385 mm high by 300 mm wide by 365 mm deep, with a painted MDF front panel and protective metal grille. Peak output reaches 325 W at 10% THD, whilst the thermal and peak limiters protect the driver during sustained high-level operation. Maximum power consumption sits at 400 W, dropping to 2.5 W in standby mode. The Sub8 Pro operates across a temperature range of -10 C to +40 C in non-condensing humidity below 75% RH, with under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protections built into the amplifier circuit.
