Audio-Technica's ATH-AL5NC wireless headphones bring open-back acoustic design to the active noise cancellation category, a rare combination in consumer audio. The open-back architecture allows air and sound to pass through the ear cups, reducing pressure build-up and delivering a more natural, spacious soundstage than typical closed designs. Hybrid ANC circuitry works across the open structure to reduce ambient noise by up to 20dB without the claustrophobic seal of traditional closed-back noise-cancelling models. Inside each cup sits a 40mm CCA-coil driver with an aluminium-coated diaphragm, delivering frequency response from 5Hz to 40kHz in wired mode.
