The Blackmagic 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G SFP bridges broadcast cameras to modern SMPTE-2110 IP infrastructure over optical fibre. This single converter handles both camera feed and programme return simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate units. Support spans HD through 4K DCI formats up to 2160p60, with auto-detection across SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and DCI standards. Signal routing covers 16 channels of embedded audio on both SDI and IP pathways, plus a 5-pin XLR talkback headset input with volume control and push-to-talk. The SFP socket accepts 10G Ethernet, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI or 12G-SDI optical modules for flexible fibre deployment. Blackmagic's IP10 codec handles conversion when stepping 12G-SDI down to 10G 2110 IP video. Full NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 compliance ensures discovery and connection management across compatible systems, whilst IEEE 1588-2008 PTP keeps timecode locked across your network. Built into a compact form factor, the unit draws 18W from a 12V external supply. Tally indication lights confirm programme status, and configuration arrives via USB-C 3.0 or direct Ethernet. Embedded ancillary data access includes RP 188 timecode, closed captioning and HDR static metadata pass-through, making this converter suitable for multi-camera live productions and remote broadcast scenarios requiring long-distance optical connectivity.
