Blackmagic Design Smart Scope Duo 4K

Blackmagic Design's Smart Scope Duo 4K combines dual independent 8-inch LCD screens with hardware waveform monitoring, letting operators switch between picture view and six different scope displays on each monitor simultaneously. Built for broadcast, post-production and live event work, it handles SD, HD, 2K DCI and 4K UHD up to 6G-SDI with automatic format detection and reclocked loop-through outputs. The unit processes 16 channels of embedded SDI audio at 48 kHz television sample rate across all video standards, supporting both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 video sampling at 8-bit colour depth. Waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, YUV parade, histogram and audio phase-level displays run independently on each screen, with hardware-based real-time colour space conversion between YUV and RGB. Connectivity includes SDI video input and 10-bit loop-through output, USB 2.0 for firmware updates and Ethernet for remote configuration via included Mac and Windows utilities. The 3RU rack-mount chassis draws less than 20 watts from a 12V universal power supply rated 12-15V operational range. Each monitor rotates independently for optimum viewing angles, and tally connectivity via 9-pin D connector integrates with broadcast systems. The dual-screen design allows graders, camera operators and engineers to cross-check colour and audio simultaneously without swapping between single displays, reducing monitoring time during critical sessions.
