The MOTU 828 MK4 is a 28x32 Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 audio interface built for recording, mixing and performing across Mac, Windows and iOS. Its single connection handles 60 simultaneous channels of I/O, making it one of the few interfaces that scales from a bedroom setup to a networked studio. The ESS Sabre32 Ultra DAC delivers 125 dB of dynamic range with vanishing distortion at sample rates up to 24-bit/192 kHz.Four combo XLR/TRS inputs feed transparent mic preamps offering up to +74 dB of gain, a switchable -20 dB pad, 48V phantom power and remote control. Channels 3 and 4 work as hi-Z guitar DIs with dedicated send/return inserts. Eight additional line inputs and twelve DC-coupled TRS outputs accommodate outboard gear, modular synth CV and immersive monitoring up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.4. Two banks of ADAT optical I/O and word clock keep digital rigs locked, while dual Gigabit AVB Ethernet ports allow daisy-chaining up to eight units for hundreds of networked channels. A 32-bit floating-point DSP mixer with reverb, EQ, gate and compression runs on the 3.9-inch RGB metering display or via the CueMix Pro app over USB, Wi-Fi or network control.
