ESS Sabre32 Ultra DAC converters deliver 120 dB dynamic range at the outputs and drive the headphone circuit, while the front-panel colour LCD displays levels across all channels. Two combo inputs on the M4 accept microphone and instrument signals, with an additional two balanced line inputs for hardware synths and drum machines. Direct monitoring routes input signals to headphones and outputs without latency, and loopback channels capture system audio for streaming or podcast production. The X1S contributes a hand-built 1" cardioid capsule in a large-diaphragm condenser body, with switchable 10 dB and 20 dB pads for louder sources and two low-cut filters to remove rumble. Its cardioid pattern rejects rear sound sources, which helps control bleed in untreated rooms. The pack includes MOTU Performer Lite recording software and arrives ready to track vocals, acoustic instruments and voice-over work alongside hardware sources. The X1S connects via XLR to one of the M4's combo inputs and runs on phantom power.
