Two notes Audio Engineering's Captor X + features a new Virtual Load Shaper and True Stereo DynIR engine that position microphones or static impulse responses independently across the stereo field. This 16-ohm reactive load box, attenuator and cabinet simulator enables direct recording, silent practice and stage-ready output without a physical speaker cab. The onboard 3-step attenuator tames output levels while preserving tube amp saturation, and the device connects via XLR outputs or a headphone jack for monitoring. Dual XLR outputs can be routed in dual mono with independent EQ and reverb per channel, or configured as a true stereo feed with panned mic placement. The Virtual Load Shaper applies post-load impedance curves that alter the tonal response of the direct feed-adding warmth, tightening low frequencies, or emphasising high-end bite. A semi-parametric multi-mode EQ provides precision frequency shaping, while a DSP Enhancer includes thickness and brilliance controls plus a Body encoder for presence adjustment. The DynIR engine processes 32 bundled virtual cabinets, each equipped with 8 microphone models and over 10,000 possible mic positions drawn from a library of 160,000 impulse responses. Twelve DSP-powered reverb room modes run on a low-latency algorithm, with an additional Custom mode for detailed parameter editing. Twin Tracker routes the mono amp signal to the left XLR output while generating a doubled guitar part on the right channel in real time. Torpedo Remote software on phone, tablet or computer provides access to all editable parameters, with 128 preset slots and six hardware-accessible quick-access locations. Hardware controls include VOICE and SPACE encoders for fast tonal adjustment during performance or tracking. Registration unlocks three additional DynIR cabinets and lifetime access to the Genome software platform, which grants entry to over 600 DynIR cabinets from licensed manufacturers and studios. Included models span Marshall 1965A, Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Standard, Fender Twin Reverb, Vox AC30, Orange 1x12, Hiwatt 2x12 and Diezel 4x12 configurations with Celestion Vintage 30, Greenback, Jensen and Eminence speaker emulations.
