Tama 14" x 6" Starphonic Bell Brass Snare Drum

The Tama Starphonic Bell Brass snare drum pairs a 3mm bell brass shell with grooved hoops and a Linear-Drive strainer mechanism for articulate, responsive tone. At 14” × 6”, this model delivers bright crack and sensitivity across studio and stage work. The 20–strand Super Sensitive Hi–Carbon snare wires sit closer to the head for crisp articulation and faster response.

Construction centres on Tama's patented Freedom Lug system, which allows claw hooks to tilt away from the grooved hoop for quick head changes without removing tension rods. The Linear–Drive strainer uses true linear motion to engage snare wires smoothly, eliminating the typical wire "slap" against the bottom head. A ratchet–style tension adjuster offers micro–adjustments down to 0.083mm of wire motion per click. The detachable butt plate lets you swap the snare–side head while preserving wire tension and calibration. Non–loosening rubber gaskets inside claw hooks prevent tension bolts from creeping during play.
