The Percolator Harmonic Saturator from Electro Harmonix delivers gated fuzz and transistor-driven harmonic distortion rooted in the aggressive, sputtering tones of late-1960s experimental rock. Originally a rare boutique circuit, this reissue provides a high-gain saturation path with a distinctive gated decay that chokes off sustain into rhythmic, crunchy bursts. The pedal's topology emphasises odd-order harmonics, generating a thick, woolly texture that sits forward in dense mixes without becoming mushy. True bypass switching preserves signal integrity when disengaged, while standard 9V DC operation draws minimal current from a dedicated power supply. A single knob controls output level, with the internal circuit set to a fixed gain stage that reacts dynamically to playing velocity and guitar volume. The compact die-cast enclosure houses germanium-style transistors that respond to temperature and input impedance, producing unpredictable harmonic bloom and compression artefacts. Input impedance measures approximately 500 kΩ, allowing humbuckers and single-coils to interact differently with the saturator stage. Features  Gated fuzz circuit with harmonic saturation and sputtering decay characteristics True bypass switching for clean signal path when pedal is disengaged Single output level control with fixed internal gain staging Germanium-style transistor topology for temperature-sensitive harmonic response 9V DC power operation with standard centre-negative barrel connector Approximately 500 kΩ input impedance for dynamic pickup interaction Die-cast metal enclosure with rugged footswitch and compact pedalboard footprint Reissue of rare 1960s boutique fuzz design with original circuit architecture
