The Razornator is a stereo effects processor built by Erica Synths in collaboration with Dutch algorithm specialists 112dB. Its architecture centres on five chromatically tuned resonating delay lines that emulate the resonance of physical objects - instrument bodies, rooms, architectural structures. Chromatic tuning allows these resonators to align in chord-like intervals, transforming tonal material into harmonically rich, musically coherent textures. An integrated envelope follower adds dynamic response, while a true stereo signal path preserves spatial information throughout processing. The signal chain begins with a gain stage offering up to +24dB of boost, functioning as an analogue overdrive when pushed. A lowpass filter with resonance control follows, feeding into the five delay-based resonators which can be manually tuned or driven by the envelope follower. Post-resonator compression sums and limits the output before blending with the dry signal through an equaliser stage, then exits via balanced outputs. Twelve adjustable parameters include full MIDI control, save/recall functions, and preset morphing. The unit ships in a premium aluminium desktop enclosure with a configurable footswitch input.
