Gibson's ES-335 60s recaptures the refined proportions and cosmetics of early 1960s semi-hollow designs. Built around a three-ply maple, poplar, and maple thinline body with solid maple centreback, this model prioritises articulate sustain and reduced feedback—hallmarks of Gibson's heritage design. The SlimTaper™ mahogany neck tapers thinner than the 50s iteration, favouring players who value speed and comfort over heft.
Electronics centre on a pair of calibrated T-Type humbuckers™ with Alnico 5 magnets, wired to hand-wound 500k volume and tone controls per pickup, plus a three-way toggle selector. The signal path flows through an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, delivering the tonal range ES-335s are known for. Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with milk bottle buttons and a Graph Tech® nut maintain pitch stability. The bound rosewood fretboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets dressed with small block acrylic inlays, whilst 5-ply pickguard, black Top Hat knobs, and cream body binding complete the 60s-inspired aesthetic. Dark Walnut gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Supplied with hardshell case.
