Gibson L-00 Special Satin

Gibson's L-00 Special represents over 90 years of refinement in small-body acoustic design, first introduced in 1932. Built in Bozeman, Montana, this model delivers genuine USA craftsmanship at an accessible price point. The defining characteristic is the L-00's narrower waist profile, which produces a focused, nuanced tone with a naturally lean and tight bass response–ideal for sitting high in a mix without muddying other instruments. Whether fingerstyle, blues, or alternative applications, the tonal character suits diverse playing styles.

Construction hinges on solid mahogany back and sides paired with a solid Sitka spruce top braced with traditional scalloped X-bracing for balanced dynamic range. The utile neck employs a compound dovetail joint and hot hide glue for structural integrity and tonal transmission. The SlimTaper® profile and 12" radius rosewood fretboard with 19 frets enable fast, comfortable play across the range. Hardware comprises a 43.815 mm bone nut, rectangular rosewood bridge with TUSQ® saddle and bridge pins, and Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners. The L.R. Baggs® Element Bronze under-saddle pickup with soundhole-mounted volume control provides stage and studio-ready amplification straight out of the case.

The satin nitrocellulose finish in Honey Burst resists fingerprints and wear while maintaining visual character. Single-ply cream binding frames the top and back edges. A premium soft-shell case is included, protecting the instrument during transport and storage.
