Gibson's Songwriter Recording Artist EC is a cutaway dreadnought built for serious recording and live work. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, the instrument draws on Gibson's 1930s Advanced Jumbo lineage, pairing a thermally aged Sitka spruce top with rosewood back and sides. The 25.5" long scale and scalloped Advanced X-braced top deliver the tonal power expected of a professional studio–grade acoustic, while the cutaway body expands upper-fret access for lead-focused playing.

Construction centres on hot hide glue dovetail joinery, a mahogany neck with compound construction, and a bound ebony fretboard fitted with 20 frets and mother-of-pearl diamond inlays. The L.R. Baggs™ HiFi system features dual bridge plate sensors and an onboard preamp, engineered to capture string dynamics and note definition whilst resisting feedback. Grover® open-back tuners, a bone nut and saddle, and TUSQ® bridge pins complete the hardware spec. The tortoise pickguard and abalone rosette protect the top while maintaining aesthetic coherence.

The built-in electronics deliver plug-and-play performance for both studio tracking and stage work, with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls remaining discreet during live performance.
