AlphaTheta has built a wireless DJ headphone system that prioritises ultra-low latency alongside pristine audio reproduction. The HDJ-F9 SonicLink headphones connect to compatible devices like the DJM-V5 via near-field communication with a simple touch, establishing a wireless link that operates up to 15 metres with minimal delay, eliminating the lag that typically makes Bluetooth unsuitable for live mixing. For mixers without SonicLink, the separately available HP-TX01 transmitter provides the same low-latency connection. Multipoint Bluetooth allows quick switching between devices, while the HEADPHONES CONNECT app helps locate misplaced headphones by triggering an audible alert. The acoustic design centres on a PEEK-PU-PEEK composite diaphragm that suppresses unwanted resonance across the mid and high frequencies, delivering distortion-free playback even at high monitoring volumes. A bass-reflex chamber integrated into the top of each housing extends low-frequency response deep into the sub-bass range, reproducing the crisp kick drums essential for DJ monitoring.
