PreSonus's StudioLive® SE 24R is a 40-channel rack mixer engineered for large-scale live sound, monitor mixing, and recording in two compact rack spaces. Built on the studio–proven Series III platform, it combines 24 XMAX–R recallable preamps with 16 configurable FlexMixes, four dedicated subgroups, and 24 DCA groups for sophisticated channel management. The inclusion of Milan–certified AVB networking, 64×64 USB 2.0 audio interface, and onboard SD recording transforms it into a hybrid mixing ecosystem capable of handling analogue, digital, and networked sources simultaneously.

The preamp stage delivers transparent gain across a 0–60 dB range with 94 dB signal–to–noise ratio and <0.005% total harmonic distortion at +4 dBu across the 20–20 kHz spectrum. Phantom power sits at +48 VDC (±2 VDC) for condenser mics, whilst per–channel source switching lets engineers toggle between analogue XLR combo inputs, USB, SD card playback, and AVB network streams. The 32–bit floating–point processing engine manages four dedicated effects sends with stereo returns, plus four matrix mixes for monitor sends. Output impedance is 100 Ohms on balanced 1/4” TRS line outs rated to +18 dBu; headphone monitoring delivers 100 mW per channel into 60 Ohm loads.

Universal Control and Offline Editor software enable remote mixing from tablets or laptops, whilst QMix–UC provides performers with independent monitor mixes. Integration with Capture software and Virtual Soundcheck simplifies multitrack recording workflows, with stereo WAV files written directly to FAT32–formatted SDHC cards up to 32 GB. The unit weighs 4.9 kg, measures 19” × 3.5” × 12”, and draws 35 W continuous power, making it suitable for both fixed installations and touring rigs requiring compact footprints without sacrificing channel depth.
