Limited to 12,000 units worldwide, it retains the direct drive engineering that made the SL-1200 a club standard, now paired with gold accents and a numbered edition badge for genuine collector value. A coreless direct drive motor eliminates the cogging that plagued earlier designs, with improved magnetic force and an optimised stator-to-rotor gap delivering torque and rotational stability on par with the SL-1200MK5. The static-balance S-shape tonearm uses high-precision bearings and a gold-finished magnesium build for accurate tracking through scratches and cuts. Speed selection covers 33-1/3, 45, and 78rpm, while the high-rigidity cabinet and high-damping insulator keep the platter isolated from vibration during long sets.
