Tama's Stagestar is a five–piece drumkit built on poplar shells, a wood choice valued in drum manufacturing for its full, warm tone and medium attack characteristics. The 22” bass drum configuration sits at the heart of this setup, paired with toms spanning 10”, 12”, and 16” sizes, plus a 14”×5.5” snare. Available in Black Night Sparkle and five other unicolour wrap finishes, the kit arrives with a complete hardware package including double tom holder, pedal, stands, and throne.
The Omnisphere tom holder system uses an omni–ball design that loosens via a single T–bolt, allowing adjustment to almost any angle without tool changes. The supplied drum pedal features a double chain drive cam with beater angle adjustment for customisation of feel and responsiveness. Hardware counts vary across configurations: the ST52H5 includes five pieces (pedal, snare stand, boom cymbal stand, hi–hat stand, throne), whilst the ST52H6 adds a straight cymbal stand. Cymbal variants are available by adding “C” to the model number; the five–piece hardware spec pairs with 14” hi–hats and 16” crash in brass.
The heavy–duty double braced drum throne employs threaded rod adjustment, allowing infinite height tuning via simple rotation rather than fixed increments. This construction philosophy extends throughout the kit, prioritising stability and adjustment range over minimalist aesthetics, making it suited to both stationary studio work and gigging scenarios where durability matters.
